The Henley Room
The first time I photographer a wedding at this venue I had no idea what to expect. The beautiful thing about this venue is the natural light. One thing that Rebecca and Jeff (bride and groom) loved about this venue was the location. We were close to the Humber Bay bridge and since the ceremony and reception was held at The Henley Room we didn’t have to travel too far once the pictures of the bride and groom were taken.
What I love about this venue is the lake. During the ceremony Rebecca (bride) asked me if we could take some more pictures during the sunset which we call the golden hour. The golden hour is where the sun is almost directly behind us and we can get some amazing light flares to give off golden tones in pictures. I looked outside and realized it was 7:30 and it was about to be pitch black. So I strap on my 85mm 1.2 lens and he head outside.
The result of these pictures was pure magic. Shooting with a lens that amazing in low light situations I was able to capture a beautiful moment between Rebeca and Jeff. As you scroll down you’ll see these beautiful pictures that were taken just before we lost all our natural light. The colours aren’t filters the colours that you see are all natural straight from the camera.
As a Toronto based wedding photographer I photograph many couples holding their wedding receptions in halls located in suburban areas where the closest park doesn’t compare to what we had on this beautiful waterfront venue.
